PNA President’s Statement on Recent Cebu Road Rage Incident

Suspect David Lim Jr., the nephew of alleged Cebu drug lord Peter Lim, surrendered to the police last Tuesday, March 21, 2017, after being charged with frustrated homicide and illegal possession of firearms, having shot Ephraim Montalbo Nuñal, a nurse.

In connection with this grievous incident against a fellow nurse, PNA National President, Ruth Thelma P. Tingda, MM, MAN, RN, gives a statement in behalf of PNA:

“In a recent road rage shooting of a fellow nurse in Cebu City that involved a member of one of the most prominent families in the country, the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) is clear on its stand that it condemns this act of violence and that it will continue to stand against all forms of violence committed against Filipino nurses in general.”

Furthermore, it wants to commend Cebu City Mayor Tomas Osmena for his vigilance and efforts in the immediate apprehension of the concerned perpetrator/s of crime regardless of political, social and financial stature.”

The victim is still in the hospital recovering after surgical operations.
